Our Sidewalks & Walkways Work
Walkways are small pours that get treated carelessly and then heave, crack and trip people. They are narrow, which means they move more with the ground, so the base and the joint spacing matter more per square foot than they do on a driveway. We grade, compact, form the curve you actually want instead of the straight line that is easy, and joint it tight enough that the slab controls its own cracking.
Formed to a real curve when the yard calls for it. A walk that bends with the landscaping looks intentional; one that cuts the corner looks like a shortcut.
Narrow slabs move more, not less. Joints go in closer together so the concrete cracks where we told it to.
Where the new work meets the street, the garage or the old slab, done so there is no lip to catch a toe or a snow shovel.
